Christmas 2014 -- the season
Few holiday cards have been sent yet (plenty of excuses, time/work/flu/etc.) but I hope to continue to send greetings to friends and family as time and all those et ceteras allow. Meanwhile, I am sharing the public album of Facebook 2014 holiday photos to recap the Christmas season. Supposedly this Facebook link -- which I turned into a tinyurl -- is viewable easily by non-Facebook folks and will be here for those friends to have this blog link from previous cards. Happy Holidays, everybody!!!

Marillion - Gabriel's Message
Michael Dylan played Marillion's A Collection of Recycled Gifts CD as we drove back from Christmas visiting in Erie. This was one of the songs: haunting, made more so by the way Steve Hogarth sings it. Love it and want to learn the song myself. 26956 views today but it was more like 26917 when I first found it the other day and posted to FB. Christmas or not, you want to hear this song. And do follow Marillion on Facebook. They plan to tour the USA in 2016 but will do a Montreal weekend in 2015…..

Still around and still busy
I'm still around Queens and Manhattan and Facebook and Twitter -- and I have been busy in my new apartment in a little more suburban Queens. My to-do list overfloweth, but I wanted to leave a note, in case friends want to catch up. Peace hugs, one and all!!

The Year -- where did it go?
Hmmmm. Anyone checking here as I write this will think I either fell off my corner of the world or am leading a very boring life. Well, maybe I will update this is sections, retroactively, but in the meantime, dear friends, if you are curious and/or eager for a Kate Anne Update, look at my photos sets on Flickr.com. I've been a busy activist and busy at work (not necessarily in that order). It has been a change year with friends departing -- dear Shirley Marcus in July -- and others leaving NYC. But am back in Ohio for Christmas thanks to a lovely speedy Greyhound overnight trip which was blessed by a friendly conversation with Margaret, a Russian pianist who teaches at the Nyack school in NYC, and was coming to Cleveland to visit her husband who teaches here.
But I have a few Christmas cards with me and will send out a few -- others will get New Years notes, Valentines, and/or Easter/spring cards, with any luck and with help from the post office. In the meantime, the best to you and yours, with blessings and love and all good things in abundance. Hugs!!

Tourist: Love the Library
I actually played tourist sans Kat today. After church I had brunch with friends at Bliss St. Station then went into Manhattan to drop off some library books at the Mid-town branch of the NYC library of 5th Ave & 40th and pay some fines from when I forgot to renew online in time ($14.50 -- but a good cause -- looking on the bright side :) then I stopped at the nearby research library [once the "main branch" officially now the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building] where the Library lions Patience and Fortitude hold court, saw the CoExist exhibit on the 3 Abrahamic religions, and then proceeded to explore the recently restored building: gorgeous, complete with WPA paints in the 3rd floor McGraw Rotunda and in 20+ years of living here I have never made it past the first floor. They have a Wi-Fi reading room where these great paintings grace the walls (mostly of famous New Yorkers) plus there was a Radioactive exhibit of Pierre and Marie Curie. Awesome! I more than got my fine back -- all this with lugging around a few new books so I got exercise too :) Lovely day AND I have tomorrow off.

Vacation?

After an acupuncture appointment, I dropped off a Christmas package to my friend Sam Oast, paid for NYFOR's post office box and then stopped at the office to pick up a few items and send a few more holiday cards for my boss Steven. Of course, I ended up doing more. Then I reacted to the acupuncture (remember to hydrate, gang) and felt a bit weird. Several glasses of water later I was back to me and did a little more before leaving a little later -- a LOT later than I planned. But at least I remembered Agatha's photos. Miss her and her beautiful smile. She's moved down to Florida to be close to family. Family is important. Hope I get to see mine as planned. (Still feel like ending this Peace hugs! :)

Christmas cards
I've turned into my mom again -- last minute Christmas cards / holiday cards (though less cherub/Hummel kids and more angels, peace doves, other animals, NYC, and trees) But in truth my friends know I frequently send out New Year's / Valentines Day, Spring and Easter cards in an attempt to stay in touch. This past year was less successful so I am determined to do better. Heck I moved down the street back in 2007 I think it was and I still have loyal friends sending cards to 39-30 instead of 39-56, my "new" house number. Too funny. But I'm lucky these are still getting to me, thanks to my postal carrier and/or my neighbor at 39-30. Please update your address lists, dear friends! And I'm putting Christmas music into my iPod in between figuring out cards. I'd better do less figuring and more writing. But music is essential. Now, back to work. [I still feel like ending blog posts with Peace hugs!]
